Facebook Not Facelift
May 25th, 2011 | by Jen |She doesn’t have a computer, and thinks the social networking site is called Facelift, but feisty Melbourne woman Helena Mackay is accruing online friends at an astonishing rate.
The 87-year-old who famously confronted an intruder in her St Kilda flat and yelled “You’re a naughty boy”, joined Facebook yesterday and, by this morning, had already gathered 400 friends.
Her swiftly growing online fan base had words of high praise for the mother of three, who impressed a judge last week with her kind heart and belief in a “fair go”.
Mrs Mackay thanked her new Facebook friends for their ‘lovely thoughts’ and immediately raised three important issues.

Mrs Mackay believed the offender shouldn’t go to jail, saying the man “needs just to get a job, (and) I think he needs rehabilitation rather than punishment”.
She has been inundated with friend requests since her son Jack Mackay set up a Facebook account.
