Meez Plans Integration with MySpace
October 20th, 2009 | by Jen |Meez will be integrating its open virtual world, Meez Nation, with the MySpace platform, the company said today. With integration on MySpace, Meez is touting even greater reach to its mostly teen user base.
“MySpace offers the perfect audience for Meez Nation — Internet-savvy teens who love to share videos and music and hang out,” said John Cahill, CEO of Meez. “Offering the Meez experience to the MySpace audience not only gives users a unique way to connect with friends, but offers brands who use the Meez platform to reach teens an even greater community for spreading brand awareness through interactive advertising.”
Meez gives users both and an ad-supported free experience as well as a paid subscription model that grants “VIP users” access to exclusive content and features. Its virtual economy encourages users to decorate their “Roomz” with premium, branded items, send gifts to other Roomz owners, and gain access to exclusive neighborhoods in the Meez universe. With over thirteen million registered users, Meez is among the top five sites when it comes to “engagement online,” says the company.
Among Meez backers are Anthem Venture Partners, Battery Ventures, Draper & Associates and Transcosmos, Inc.
