Myspace versus Facebook Which one is the better social network?
June 2nd, 2008 | by Jen |I had been a myspace member for about 5 years when a friend of mine from uni called me up to yell “Why aren’t you on Facebook yet?”.
Needless to day, following this call I jumped fingers first onto the computer to search for Facebook. What I found what astonishing. It was like a mini Myspace. I signed up, which took exactly 1 minute and there it was- my own world…again. So, I began to think- why do I need to be on another social network? I was happy with Myspace- all the great applications, layouts, comments I mean why did I need another five hours of my day taken out for socializing online?
Well, it took less than a couple of weeks before I had over 50 friends. I kept hopping from Myspace to facebook but I really found that they re quite different. For one, on Facebook, you cannot customize your page so everyone’s page looks the same except for your own picture, profile details and the posts. Myspace pages are definitely more colourful and personal. However, I found Facebook quite easy to get into- it’s just as user friendly as its competitor.
These days I find myself jumping from myspace to Facebook. I quickly upload layouts, music and comments onto myspace and then I hop onto Facebook to see what’s happening. I do find facebook a little more user friendly- don’t know why but I seem to prefer it a little!
